Are you passionate about fostering a love for reading and learning in young minds? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Academic Librarian to join our dynamic school community in Hackney on a permanent basis, starting in September 2024.
As our Academic Librarian, you will play a crucial role in supporting students’ educational journeys by managing our library’s resources, curating engaging collections, and creating a welcoming environment that encourages curiosity and exploration. You’ll work closely with both students and staff to enhance the learning experience and promote literacy across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the school library’s resources, including books, digital media, and reference materials.
- Support students and staff with research, information literacy, and reading initiatives.
- Organize and lead literacy programs, book clubs, and other library-related activities.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
- Foster a love of reading and lifelong learning in students.
Qualifications:
- Experience working as a librarian, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Passion for promoting literacy and supporting students’ academic growth.
