Location: Across West Sussex

Salary: £30,296 – £33.024

Contract Type: Full-time, initially until the end of the academic year August 2025

Masterclass are working with a superb SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) multi-site school, they are dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of their students. They strive to create a nurturing environment that promotes the emotional, social, and academic development of all their students. They are seeking compassionate and motivated Assistant Psychologist’s to join their team, providing valuable psychological support within the school and remotely to improve the attendance and engagement between the school and pupil.

As an Assistant Psychologist, you will work under the supervision of a qualified Clinical professional to support the delivery of psychological services to the pupils. Your role will involve working directly with students, supporting staff, and contributing to the development and implementation of interventions that promote positive mental health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the assessment of students’ psychological needs using a variety of tools and techniques under supervision.
  • Support the implementation of individual and group interventions designed to enhance students’ emotional and mental well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to develop and implement strategies that support student learning and mental health.
  • Collect, analyse, and report data on student progress and the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Provide direct support to students experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties, using evidence-based approaches.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training sessions for school staff on topics related to mental health and well-being.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Must have:

  • Ability to work well independently and as a team
  • Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
  • A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
  • Holds GCSE’S in Maths & English grade A*-C 4-9 or equivalent
  • Resilience to deal with challenging situations
