Assistant SENDCO
Hours: 19 hours per week
Location: Burgess Hill
Pay: £250 per week

Masterclass are in search of someone who holds some experience within a SENDCO role or similar who would like to join a dynamic school team. The school specialises in SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) and prides itself on ensuring their students achieve the very best they can. You will be assisting the SENDCO in leading the provision in their SEN department, this will involve travelling to other school sites when required. The ideal candidate will therefore hold a driving licence and have access to a car.
The Role:
- Working closely with the class teachers, parents and external agencies to ensure all students are receiving the support they require to be successful within the school.
- Managing resources for Special Needs and Learning Support
- Developing curriculum resources to ensure students have the required support they need.
- Leading and coordinating meetings
- Carrying out assessments to identify the needs of the individual student and monitor their progress, including observations in the classroom.
- Overseeing the implementation of the schools SEN strategies and policies.

Must have:
- Ability to work well independently and as a team
- Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
- A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
- Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
- Holds GCSE’S in Maths & English grade A*-C 4-9 or equivalent
- Resilience to deal with challenging situations
