Masterclass Education are currently looking for talented learning mentors to work in a secondary school based in Camden.
This is a secondary alternative provision for students who are unable to attend mainstream education for various reason such as being permanently/temporarily excluded, recently moved to the area and haven’t enrolled into a school yet or for medical reasons.
The school provide educational alternatives for these students such as vocational courses such as mechanics, cooking, music, coaching, hairdressing, and beauty therapy. Due to the nature of the needs of these students staff are required to have good behaviour management, be thick skinned, resilient and have a positive attitude.
This is a long-term opportunity to start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year. Previous school-based experience is desired but not essential, if you have childcare experience in other areas such as sports coaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work or any other relevant experience would be beneficial.
The Role
– Working with students KS3-KS4
– Supporting students with challenging behaviours/ SEMH
– Assisting class teacher with classroom duties
– Engaging in the wider responsibilities across the school such as lunch cover, assemblies etc
