Behaviour Support Assistant – Brighton

Monday – Friday

8.30am-3.30pm

£85-£95 Daily rate

We work with a welcoming school who provide pupils with opportunities to achieve and celebrate their progress. They support, challenge and motivate their pupils to succeed. We are looking to appoint an experienced SEMH/SEND Teaching Assistant to the team of dedicated and resourceful staff at our primary school in Brighton, starting in the Spring Term. The role will be to support their pastoral worker in their Nurture provision. The successful candidate will be working as part of a great team, supporting children with severe and complex needs in Key Stage 2. We need someone with a passion for working with children who have SEND/SEMH needs, and someone with experience. This full time position is required to start April.

The Role of a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a dedicated, enthusiastic professional
  • Has a passion for learning
  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Has experience supporting children with SEMH/ SEND on a 1:1 basis
  • Has experience of supporting mild to severe SEND including but not limited to: Autism, ADHD, Challenging Behaviour or Speech and Language difficulties
  • Is passionate about inclusive education
  • Is willing to learn and to be trained further in this role
  • Is qualified to at NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualifications or experience
  • Working hours from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

  • A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
