We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Care Assistant to join their team and contribute to the welfare and development of our pupils.
Job Overview:
As a Care Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide essential care and support for pupils with additional needs. You will assist in ensuring a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment, helping children to thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care to students, including assistance with toileting, dressing, and feeding where necessary.
- Support children with special educational needs (SEN) in accessing the curriculum and participating in school activities.
- Assist with mobility and physical needs, ensuring safety at all times.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for students.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff to ensure the well-being of all pupils.
- Monitor and support emotional and social development, offering a caring presence throughout the school day.
- Assist in classroom activities, playground supervision, and during school trips when required.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about pupils’ progress and needs.
Requirements:
- Experience in a care role, preferably within a school or childcare setting.
- A patient, kind, and empathetic approach to working with children.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions from teaching staff.
- Basic understanding of child development and safeguarding.
- A willingness to undertake training related to care, SEN support, or medical needs.
- A positive attitude and dedication to improving the lives of young people.
