Cover Supervisor for Secondary Schools Brighton
Company Overview:
Masterclass Education (MCE) is collaborating with several Secondary Schools in Brighton to recruit cover supervisors for both long-term positions and day-to-day roles. These schools provide full-time education for students aged 11 to 18 years old, and cover supervisors will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher.
Position Overview:
MCE is seeking robust and resilient individuals with a passion for teaching who are eager to develop their experience and pursue a career in education. Successful candidates will play a crucial role in supporting the continuation of education for students in Year 7 to 11 during the absence of their class teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-set lessons to students in Year 7 to 11 as provided by the class teacher or subject department.
- Ensure a positive and productive learning environment conducive to student engagement and learning.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and enforce school policies as necessary.
- Provide support and assistance to students as needed during lessons.
- Collaborate with other staff members and departments to ensure the smooth running of the school day.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and any issues arising during lessons.
- Uphold a commitment to safeguarding students and young people at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Educated to a degree level (ideally).
- Previous experience working in a similar educational setting, teaching, or leading groups.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for supporting and empowering children and young people.
- Possession of a DBS on the Updates Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Commitment to safeguarding students and young people.
