Are you an innovative Design Technology Teacher with a passion for creativity and problem-solving? Masterclass Education is seeking a dynamic Product Design Teacher to join a leading secondary school in the Brighton and Hove area. This role has become available as maternity leave cover and is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and guide students in developing practical skills, design thinking, and an understanding of sustainable design practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Product Design lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering topics such as design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Inspire students to explore creativity, problem-solving, and engineering concepts through hands-on projects.
- Guide students in using tools, technologies, and materials safely and effectively.
- Encourage students to design and prototype innovative solutions that address real-world challenges.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and supporting their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development of the Design and Technology curriculum.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Product Design, Design and Technology, or a related field.
- Strong practical skills in design tools, machinery, and digital design software.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to promoting sustainability and innovative design thinking.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
