Exams Officer

Location: Lancing/Burgess Hill

Contract Type: 25 hours per week, Permanent

Salary: £20,000 – £23,000

We are looking for an Exams Officer who can play a crucial role in the educational system, contributing to the fair and efficient conduct of examinations, which is essential for maintaining the integrity and credibility of the assessment process.

Masterclass are working alongside a fantastic multi-site school whose aim is to support their students to feel valued and gain access to learning through a personalised programme, individual to them. They have been rated “Good” in there rating from Ofsted in March 2018. The candidate must also be able to drive and have access to a car as they will be required to cover more than one site.

The Role

  1. Exam Scheduling: Planning and organizing the examination timetable, considering the different subjects, levels, and exam boards.
  2. Venue Coordination: Securing appropriate venues for exams, ensuring they meet the necessary requirements, and planning for special accommodations if needed.
  3. Exam Materials: Managing the distribution and collection of exam papers, as well as coordinating the procurement and secure storage of examination materials.
  4. Invigilation: Arranging and supervising invigilators to monitor the exams, ensuring a secure and controlled environment for all candidates.
  5. Special Accommodations: Managing requests and arrangements for candidates with special needs or disabilities to ensure they have equal opportunities during exams.
  6. Compliance: Ensuring that all examination processes adhere to the regulations and guidelines set by relevant examination boards or educational authorities.
  7. Results and Certification: Coordinating the distribution of exam results and certificates and providing support to students and teachers regarding any related queries.
  8. Communication: Keeping students, teachers, and parents informed about exam-related matters, including schedules, procedures, and any changes.

Must have:

  • Ability to work well independently and as a team
  • Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
  • A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
