About the Role:
Masterclass Education is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic HOD Secondary Geography Teacher to join a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Brighton and Hove. This role has now become available due to maternity cover. This full-time position is perfect for a teacher who is passionate about delivering engaging Geography lessons in a community orientated school with a subsidiary leadership role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver exceptional Geography lessons to KS3 and KS4 classrooms.
- Scaffold lessons and learning content to a range of abilities.
- Mark homework and assessments, providing constructive feedback.
- Liaise with parents providing feedback about student’s progress.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of students, ensuring compliance with school policies.
- Participate in extracurricular activities/groups to encourage wider development of students learning journey.
- Lead CPD training and lead department.
Qualifications:
- Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography or a related field.
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education).
- Strong subject knowledge.
