Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. The HLTA will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality education and support to students. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to make a significant impact on the educational outcomes and well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in the planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Lead small group activities and interventions to support students’ learning and progress in specific subjects or areas of need.
  • Provide one-to-one support and guidance to students, including those with special educational needs or other additional learning needs, adapting teaching strategies and resources as required.
  • Assist with the assessment and monitoring of student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to support ongoing learning and development.
  • Lead and manage whole-class activities and lessons in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to support the implementation of curriculum objectives and assessment processes.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of school-wide initiatives, including extracurricular activities, enrichment programs, and community events.
  • Participate in training, professional development activities, and team meetings to enhance knowledge and skills in teaching and learning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a HLTA qualification.
  • Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a school setting.
  • Sound knowledge of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies across different subjects and age groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality in education.
