Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Contract Type: Full-time, Monday – Friday
Pay: £95.00 – £100 daily

We are working with a superb school setting who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. As an HLTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching and learning process, helping to create a positive educational environment. You would take lead in the subject of Food however other duties should be expected.
As a SEMH (social emotional and mental health) HLTA, the successful candidate will be able to show some flexibility and adaptability in their teaching to ensure you meet the needs of the individual students within the class.
A teacher would also be considered for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Small Group Sessions: Plan and deliver focused learning activities for small groups of students under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Cover Supervision: Provide cover for teachers during planned absences, ensuring continuity in the learning process.
- Curriculum Support: Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources, contributing to the development and enhancement of the curriculum.
- Assessment and Feedback: Support the assessment process by providing constructive feedback to students and assisting in the evaluation of their progress.
- Behaviour Management: Promote positive behaviour within the classroom, implementing school policies and procedures consistently.
- Individualized Support: Work with individual students or small groups, tailoring support to meet their specific needs and learning styles.
The ideal candidate:
- Support and encourage positive behaviour management.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment enabling students to feel relaxed and happy.
- Able to deliver learning to individuals, small groups, and whole classes as and when required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to promoting a supportive learning environment.

Must have:
- Ability to work well independently and as a team
- Hold GCSE’s in Maths & English grade A*-C 4-9 (or equivalent)
- Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
- A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
- Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
