Masterclass are working with a superb school setting who specialise in providing high-quality learning experiences for students with special educational needs (SEN). We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join the team as a Midday Meal Supervisor to ensure the well-being and safety of the students during lunchtimes.
Job Description:
As a Midday Meal Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and supportive environment for the students during lunch breaks. You will be responsible for supervising students, providing assistance as needed, and promoting social interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students with special educational needs during lunch breaks, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Provide support and assistance to students with eating difficulties, sensory sensitivities, or other additional needs, helping them to access meals and participate in lunchtime activities.
- Monitor and manage student behaviour, intervening as necessary to address any issues and ensure a calm and orderly lunchtime environment.
- Engage students in enjoyable and inclusive activities during lunchtimes, tailored to their individual interests and abilities, to promote socialization and sensory stimulation.
- Support students in developing independence and life skills related to mealtime routines, such as serving food, using utensils, and cleaning up afterwards.
- Liaise closely with teachers, support staff, and therapists to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting students’ needs and implementing individualized support strategies.
- Administer medication or provide personal care assistance to students as required during lunchtimes, following relevant protocols and procedures.

Must have:
- Ability to work well independently and as a team
- Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
- A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
- Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
