We are looking for a reliable and proactive Premises Officer to join the team and ensure their facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and responsible Premises Officer to oversee the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of our school premises. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the security of the school premises, including opening and closing the school each day and managing access during events.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs, ensuring all facilities are in good working order.
- Oversee cleaning staff and ensure the school is clean and hygienic at all times.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks and risk assessments.
- Manage and maintain school grounds, including landscaping and snow removal.
- Coordinate with external contractors for major repairs and maintenance projects.
- Monitor and manage heating, ventilation, and other building systems.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and school policies.
- Respond to emergencies and manage the evacuation procedures if necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and security checks.
- Assist with setting up rooms and facilities for school events and activities.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a premises officer or facilities management role (preferred).
- Strong practical skills, with the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
