Primary Learning Support Assistant (Cerebral Palsy Support)

Contract Type: Monday-Friday | 8.30-3.30 | Term time
Salary: £445 a week
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a primary-aged pupil with cerebral palsy. This is a rewarding role where you will play a key part in enabling the pupil to access learning, participate fully in school life, and achieve their potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 support in the classroom and during wider school activities.
- Assist with physical and mobility needs, including use of specialist equipment.
- Support with personal care, where required, in a respectful and sensitive manner.
- Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning materials and strategies.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and active participation in school life.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Person Specification
Essential:
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals.
- Willingness to support with personal care and mobility needs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
- Experience of working with children with physical disabilities or complex needs.
- Knowledge of strategies and adaptations to support pupils with cerebral palsy.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning, or equivalent).
