We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Classroom Support Assistant to join our team.
Job Description:
As an SEMH Classroom Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the social, emotional, and mental health needs of the students. You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to provide individualised support that promotes students’ well-being and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students with SEMH needs in the classroom, helping them to engage with their learning and manage their emotions and behaviour.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans and behaviour support plans.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record students’ progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
- Facilitate small group or one-on-one interventions as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging trust and open communication.

Must have:
- Ability to work well independently and as a team
- Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
- A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
- Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
- Holds GCSE’S in Maths & English grade A*-C 4-9 or equivalent
- Resilience to deal with challenging situations
