About the Role

We are seeking an SEN Cover Supervisor to join a dedicated team, providing essential support and supervision to students with a range of SEN needs in the absence of their regular teacher. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity in learning while fostering an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to students, ensuring learning objectives are met.
  • Supervise and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, adapting materials and approaches as necessary to meet individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Build rapport with students, offering encouragement and guidance to help them achieve their potential.
  • Record and report on student progress and any incidents in line with school procedures.

About You

We are looking for a confident, adaptable, and compassionate individual who is committed to supporting the educational and personal development of students with SEN.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a classroom effectively.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to stay calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • A-level or equivalent and have a C or higher in English and Maths at GCSE

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in a similar Cover Supervisor or teaching role.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, SEN support, or child development (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Understanding of specific SEN conditions, such as autism, ADHD, or dyslexia.
