About the Role

We are seeking an SEN Cover Supervisor to join a dedicated team, providing essential support and supervision to students with a range of SEN needs in the absence of their regular teacher. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity in learning while fostering an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to students, ensuring learning objectives are met.
- Supervise and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
- Provide tailored support to students with SEN, adapting materials and approaches as necessary to meet individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Build rapport with students, offering encouragement and guidance to help them achieve their potential.
- Record and report on student progress and any incidents in line with school procedures.
About You
We are looking for a confident, adaptable, and compassionate individual who is committed to supporting the educational and personal development of students with SEN.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a classroom effectively.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Ability to stay calm and composed in challenging situations.
- A-level or equivalent and have a C or higher in English and Maths at GCSE
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in a similar Cover Supervisor or teaching role.
- Relevant qualifications in education, SEN support, or child development (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Understanding of specific SEN conditions, such as autism, ADHD, or dyslexia.
