Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated educator with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and guiding them through their GCSE English studies? We are currently seeking a dynamic SEN English Teacher with GCSE expertise to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of our students.

Position: SEN English Teacher (GCSE Specialist)

Location: Caterham

Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students with SEN, with a focus on GCSE preparation.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate individual learning styles and preferences, ensuring that all students are equipped with the skills and knowledge required for success in their GCSE exams.
  • Provide one-on-one support and small group instruction to address specific learning challenges related to GCSE English content and exam preparation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement personalized learning plans for students with SEN, incorporating targeted support for GCSE studies.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported as they work towards achieving their GCSE goals.


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification in English Education.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly in the context of GCSE English education.
  • Strong knowledge of the GCSE English curriculum and assessment requirements, as well as strategies for supporting students with SEN in this context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in SEN and GCSE education.
