About the Role:
Masterclass Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our dynamic team in Barnsley. We are currently recruiting for a range of positions for January starts. As a SEN Teacher, you will:
- Lead and oversee the development of learners with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Manage and support a team of Teaching Assistants (TAs) to ensure that all learners receive the best possible support.
- Plan, mark, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of the students.
- Foster an inclusive environment where all students are encouraged to reach their potential.
- Work closely with the wider educational team to ensure the individual needs of each learner are met.
Key Requirements:
- A PGCE is required (ECTs are welcome to apply – please enquire if you are yet to complete your PGCE).
- Experience working in Special Educational Needs (SEN) settings is highly desirable.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to maintain a calm, supportive classroom environment.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach, with the ability to engage and build relationships with students.
- Experience working with a range of students, ideally in both specific subjects and multi-subject contexts.
- Knowledge of relevant training programmes such as SALT (Speech and Language Therapy) and Team Teach is a plus.
