Job Overview:

They are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Primary Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and supporting primary-aged students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. This role includes some planning, implementing individualised education plans adapting teaching methods, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure each child’s unique needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored lessons that cater to the individual needs of SEND students.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage and support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure academic and personal development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEND education.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress and development.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) ECTs Welcome to Apply!
  • Proven experience teaching primary-aged children, particularly those with SEND.
  • Strong understanding of various SEND conditions and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to providing high-quality education for all students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practices.
