Teaching Assistant – SEN – Uckfield.

Job Description

We are seeking caring individuals who can empathise with SEN students and pave the way for them to thrive within an education setting.

Teaching assistants play a pivotal role within a SEN school setting, giving that extra support to students who require further help & guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Support: Help teachers in delivering lessons, managing classroom activities, and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.
  2. Student Guidance: Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts, assist with assignments, and provide additional support as needed.
  3. Resource Management: Assist in organizing and preparing teaching materials, ensuring that resources are readily available for lessons and activities.
  4. Behavioural Support: Implement and reinforce positive behaviour management strategies, promoting a respectful manner.
  5. Supervision: Monitor students during class activities, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  6. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and fellow staff members.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable, although not vital.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine interest in the well-being of students and children.
  • A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
