Position Overview:

They are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. The Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and other educational professionals to provide valuable support and assistance to pupils in the classroom. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to their educational and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in the planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Assist students with their learning, providing one-to-one support, small group activities, and differentiated instruction to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, providing encouragement, motivation, and emotional support to help them overcome challenges and build confidence in their abilities.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques to support students with challenging behaviour and promote a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • Support students with special educational needs or other additional learning needs, adapting teaching strategies and resources to meet their individual learning requirements.
  • Assist with classroom organisation and management, including setting up learning materials, maintaining a tidy and organized environment, and supervising students during activities and transitions.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other members of the school community to support the implementation of curriculum objectives and assessment processes.
  • Participate in training, professional development activities, and team meetings to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting students’ learning and well-being.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting the implementation of classroom activities and educational strategies.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and resilient, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
