Masterclass Education are working with a 2-form entry primary school in the Littlehampton area. They are a ‘Good’ rated school who are looking for a for a strong Year 6 teacher to join their amazing team to start in May before the half term. The current teacher has described that they are an absolute pleasure to teach. There are a couple of students who have EHCPs but the school have already have support in place for them and the school are there to support as well.
They are seeking an experienced and dedicated Year 6 Primary Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing our students for the transition to secondary school, ensuring they achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering challenging and stimulating lessons in line with the national curriculum, with a focus on preparing students for end-of-year assessments and transition to secondary school.
- Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with additional learning needs and English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners.
- Implementing effective assessment strategies to track students’ progress and provide timely feedback to support their growth.
- Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.
- Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders to support students’ holistic development and well-being.
- Leading and participating in extracurricular activities, school events, and initiatives to enrich the school community.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) ECTs Welcome to Apply!
- Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2, with a focus on Year 6 and SATs preparation
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum, assessment frameworks, and expectations for Year 6 students
- Excellent classroom management skills and ability to effectively manage behaviour and engagement.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best and instil a love of learning.
