1:1 SEN Classroom Assistant – Year 2 (ADHD Support)

Hours: 08:30–15:30 | Monday–Friday | Term Time Only

Salary: £92 – £95 per week

Masterclass Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Classroom Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with ADHD at a vibrant and inclusive primary academy in Bristol.

This friendly school caters to children aged 3–11 and is committed to inspiring every pupil to achieve their full potential. The school fosters a nurturing, respectful environment where pupils are encouraged to work hard, be kind and show courage, and where staff and students work collaboratively to support positive development and achievement. The curriculum is broad and engaging, with a strong focus on communication, inclusion and celebrating diversity, ensuring all pupils including those with additional needs are supported to flourish in all areas of school life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with ADHD
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies and individual education plans (IEPs)
• Support the pupil’s academic progress, emotional regulation, and social development
• Use positive behaviour strategies to promote focus and engagement
• Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet individual needs
• Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEN or caring setting
• Understanding or experience supporting pupils with ADHD (desirable)
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
