Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Cover Teacher to follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher and ensure that students are engaged in learning. The ideal candidate will maintain a positive and supportive learning environment, assist students with their work, manage behaviour, and communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and school administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow Lesson Plans:
  • Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring that learning objectives are met and students stay on track with the curriculum.
  • Engage Students in Learning:
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and techniques to keep students engaged and actively participating in the learning process.
  • Maintain a Positive Learning Environment:
  • Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere in the classroom where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn.
  • Assist Students and Provide Guidance:
  • Provide individualized assistance to students as needed, offering guidance and clarification to help them understand concepts and complete assignments.
  • Manage Student Behaviour:
  • Enforce school policies and manage student behaviour effectively, addressing any disruptions or conflicts that arise in the classroom.
  • Communication:
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and school administrators to provide updates on student progress, behaviour, and any concerns that may arise.
  • Feedback:
  • Provide feedback to the regular teacher regarding student progress and behaviour, highlighting areas of improvement and success.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or ESOL or TESOL Certificate.
  • Experience leading classes or groups, preferably within an education setting.
  • Understanding of the UK Curriculum and educational standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage classroom dynamics and behaviour.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classroom environments and with varying age groups.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to school policies and procedures.
