We are currently recruiting for a Head of Maths to join a specialist all-through SEN school in the Horsham area that specialises in supporting pupils with Autism. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated teacher to lead the Maths department across Key Stages 3 and 4 from September.
Previous leadership experience is not essential, making this a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to progress into their first leadership role within a supportive environment.
Role Details
- Position: Head of Maths

- Setting: SEN All-Through School specialising in Autism
- Key Stages: KS3 – KS4
- Start Date: September
- Salary: £48,000 – £53,000 dependent on experience
The Role
- Leading the Maths department across KS3 and KS4
- Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Supporting pupils with Autism and additional learning needs
- Developing and adapting the Maths curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement
- Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and senior leaders
- Creating a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A passion for supporting children with additional needs
- The motivation to develop within a leadership role
- A rewarding role making a genuine difference to pupils’ lives
