Master Class Education is seeking an exceptional Head of Science to lead a dynamic Science department within a secondary school in the Rainham area. This is a permanent, full-time leadership position covering Year 7 through Year 13.
About the Role
As Head of Science, you will oversee the strategic development of the Science faculty, lead a team of specialist teachers, and ensure high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages up to Sixth Form. You will play a key role in curriculum planning, staff development, assessment strategy, and fostering a culture of academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Science department across KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Drive achievement, progress, and engagement in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Line-manage and support Science teaching staff
- Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and quality assurance processes
- Model outstanding teaching practice and contribute to whole-school leadership
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Substantial experience teaching Science across at least two key stages
- Previous middle or senior leadership experience (e.g., Subject Lead, Key Stage Coordinator, 2iC)
- Strong understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements up to A-Level
- A proven track record of raising attainment and leading successful teams
Pay & Conditions
