Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (1:1 Support – Year 1)
Location: Littlehampton, West Sussex
Start Date: After May Half Term, continuing into the new academic year
Contract: Fixed-term (linked to pupil funding)
Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday-Friday, term time only
Salary: £463.15 a week
About the Role
We are seeking a caring, patient and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 child. This role will begin after May half term and will continue into the new academic year.
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to support the child’s learning, emotional wellbeing and independence throughout the school day.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of supporting children in a primary school setting
- Is calm, nurturing and able to build positive relationships
- Can follow guidance from the class teacher and SENCo to implement support strategies
- Has good communication skills and works well as part of a team
- Is proactive, flexible and responsive to the child’s needs
- Ideally has experience supporting children with additional needs (e.g. ASD, speech and language, or social and emotional needs)
A relevant qualification is desirable but not essential. Experience and the right personal qualities are key.
