Learning Support Assistant- Tonbridge

Monday – Friday

8.30am-3.30pm

£90-£100 Daily rate

We work with a welcoming school who provide pupils with opportunities to achieve and celebrate their progress. They support, challenge and motivate their pupils to succeed. We are looking to appoint an experienced Support Workers to the team of dedicated and resourceful staff at their residential school starting in the Spring Term. The successful candidate will be working as part of a great team, supporting children with severe and complex needs. You will be supporting students in both formal and informal learning environments to meet the students physical, learning and social needs. We need someone with a passion for working with children who have SEN needs, and someone with experience. This full time position is required to start April.

Must have:

· Accredited practical Moving & Handling course

· Driving License

· A caring, patient nature

· Friendly and nurturing qualities

· Has a passion to support and empower children and young people

· Ability to work well independently and as a team

· A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one

The Role:

· To support students within the learning and / or residential environments in order to promote each student’s intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development and to promote a caring environment by providing a high standard of care including toileting, washing, bathing and mealtime assistance.

· To ensure that communication with students, staff and other departments is effective and contributes to securing efficiency and high standards of care and personal development for students within a learning and residential environment.

· To maintain high standards of safety and observe good practice in relation to health and safety issues.

· To be aware of and implement students’ care plans and to assist the students’ in the development of their independence outcomes within the individualised programme.
