Learning Support Assistant – Secondary SEN School (Complex Needs)

Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/Part-time
Salary: £85 – £95 per day (dependent on experience)
We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist secondary SEN school supporting students with complex needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require highly personalised support to thrive both academically and socially.
The school caters for students with a range of complex needs, including ASD, SEMH, communication and interaction difficulties, learning disabilities and associated behaviours.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual EHCP targets.
- Assist students with accessing a differentiated and adapted curriculum.
- Support communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams.
- Support personal care where required.
- Contribute to a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with children or young people with complex SEN (secondary experience desirable).
- Be calm, patient and emotionally resilient.
- Have strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Be confident supporting students with communication needs and sensory differences.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing.
