Maths Teacher – SEN Unit

We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Maths Teacher to join an SEN unit in Brighton, supporting Year 11 students working towards their GCSEs.
The unit specialises in supporting autistic students with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), so the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN and be confident adapting their teaching approach to meet individual learning needs.
The Role
- Teaching Maths to Year 11 students working towards their GCSEs
- Planning and delivering engaging, accessible Maths lessons
- Adapting teaching and learning to support students with autism and PDA
- Supporting students to build confidence and make progress towards their GCSEs
- Creating a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment
- Working closely with the wider SEN team to support individual student needs
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with SEN students is essential
- Experience supporting autistic students is highly desirable
- An understanding of PDA and strategies for supporting demand-avoidant behaviour would be advantageous
- Confident teaching Maths at GCSE level
- Patient, adaptable and able to build positive relationships with students
