KS1 Teacher – Primary.

Job Description

Teacher – Primary KS1

Full-Time | Mon-Fri

Are you an enthusiastic and committed primary teacher looking for a new opportunity in a lovely school and a beautiful part of West Sussex?

Masterclass Education is delighted to be working with a welcoming and well-established primary school in Chichester, who are looking for a passionate KS1 Teacher to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who wants to become part of a school where children are at the heart of everything they do. The school has a warm and friendly feel, with a supportive team of teachers and leaders who work closely together and genuinely care about providing the best possible education and experience for their pupils.

The school prides itself on creating a positive environment where children feel happy, safe and confident to learn. Staff are encouraged to share ideas, support one another and continue developing their own practice, making this a great setting for both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to build their confidence and career.

About the School & Location

The school is based in Chichester, one of West Sussex’s most beautiful and historic towns. With its charming city centre, independent shops, cafés and historic surroundings, Chichester has a lovely community feel while still being close to the stunning South Coast.

The surrounding area offers beautiful countryside, picturesque villages and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, making it a fantastic place to both work and live. You’ll have the best of both worlds — a thriving local community with the countryside and coast within easy reach.

The Role

As a KS1 Teacher, you will take responsibility for creating a classroom where children feel encouraged, supported and excited to learn. You’ll plan and deliver engaging lessons that capture children’s imagination while ensuring that learning is accessible to pupils of different abilities and needs.

You’ll be joining a supportive team and working closely with colleagues and teaching assistants to help every child make progress. Building positive relationships with pupils will be an important part of the role, particularly during these important early years of their education.

The school is looking for someone who brings energy, enthusiasm and a genuine love of teaching into the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and well-structured lessons across KS1.
  • Create a warm, inclusive classroom where every child feels valued.
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching where needed.
  • Set high expectations for learning, behaviour and personal development.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and colleagues to support pupils effectively.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with children and their families.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and work as part of a close-knit team.

We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 is desirable.
  • A teacher who is enthusiastic, approachable and genuinely enjoys working with young children.
  • Someone who can create an engaging and positive classroom environment.
  • Strong classroom management skills and high expectations of all pupils.
  • A flexible and team-focused approach.
  • Someone who is keen to contribute to school life beyond the classroom.
  • ECTs are very welcome to apply.

What You Can Expect

  • A friendly and welcoming school community.
  • Supportive and approachable leadership.
  • A dedicated team of teachers and support staff.
  • Enthusiastic pupils who are keen to learn.
  • A school that values staff wellbeing and development.
  • Opportunities to develop professionally and take on new responsibilities.
  • A beautiful location in and around Chichester, with countryside and the South Coast close by.

If you’re a KS1 teacher looking for a school where you can settle in, feel supported and genuinely make a difference to children’s lives, this could be a great opportunity for you.
