About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary SEN Teacher with a passion for supporting students with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).

As the Speech and Communication Specialist, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of your pupils, helping them to develop their communication, literacy, and social interaction skills in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons for students with SLCN and additional learning needs.
- Work collaboratively with Speech and Language Therapists (SaLTs), Learning Support Assistants, and other professionals.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that promotes confidence and engagement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies to meet diverse learning styles.
- Promote communication-friendly classroom strategies across the school.
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Experience teaching students with special educational needs, ideally within a secondary setting.
- Strong understanding of speech, language, and communication development.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.
