We are working with a supportive specialist school in Lancing that is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
- Encourage confidence, resilience, and independence
- Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
We Are Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs (desirable)
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
