SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Shoreham by Sea
Contract: 08:30-15:30 | Monday-Friday | Term time only
Start Date: February
Salary: £400-£445 a week
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join on of our friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and help them achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN (including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH).
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
- Adapt learning resources and strategies to meet individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and inclusion across the school.
- Contribute to a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children, ideally in a school or SEN setting.
- A patient, caring and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential).
