Job Description: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of students with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.
- Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Supporting the class teacher in creating an inclusive classroom environment.
- Helping to manage classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.
- Encouraging and promoting the students’ independence and self-confidence.
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to support the students’ needs.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are advantageous.
