  • Helping pupils access classroom activities and engage positively with their learning.
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction, confidence and independence.
  • Supporting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and wellbeing.
  • Adapting learning resources and activities to suit different abilities and learning styles.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support pupils’ development.
  • Creating a calm, safe and inclusive environment where children feel comfortable and encouraged.
  • Assisting with personal care where required and appropriate to the role.
  • Following safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of every child.

What We’re Looking For

We want to hear from people who genuinely care about helping children succeed, regardless of the challenges they may face.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Patient, compassionate and understanding.
  • Enthusiastic about supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Reliable, proactive and willing to get involved.
  • Confident building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Flexible and able to respond calmly to changing situations.
  • Committed to helping children develop essential life skills and achieve their individual goals.
  • Dedicated to safeguarding, inclusion and creating positive learning experiences.

Previous experience in an SEN school, mainstream school, nursery or alternative provision is desirable. Relevant qualifications or training in SEN, autism awareness, communication support or behaviour management would also be beneficial.

Most importantly, we value the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine commitment to making a difference.
