Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Salary: £85.00 £90.00 daily

Masterclass are working with a school who is based in the Littlehampton area and boasts some fab facilities. They work with students who have SEMH, social emotionally and mental health who require support throughout the school day. It also boosts a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Situated just a short walk from the local train station and on a popular bus route the school is making it an ideal location.

As a classroom assistant, you are expected to support a student with various needs including trauma and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Support: Help teachers in delivering lessons, managing classroom activities, and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.
  2. Student Guidance: Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts, assist with assignments, and provide additional support as needed.
  3. Resource Management: Assist in organizing and preparing teaching materials, ensuring that resources are readily available for lessons and activities.
  4. Behavioural Support: Implement and reinforce positive behaviour management strategies, promoting a respectful manner.
  5. Supervision: Monitor students during class activities, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  6. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and fellow staff members.

Requirements:

  • GCSE’E equivalent to grade A*-C Grade 4-9
  • Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable, although not vital.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine interest in the well-being of students and children.

  • Ability to work well independently and as a team
  • Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
  • A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
