Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Primary Teacher looking for a rewarding Key Stage 1 opportunity?
We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team from September 2026 to cover a maternity leave. The role is initially expected to run until Easter 2027, with the possibility of being extended beyond this date.
This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to gain valuable experience within a nurturing school environment.
The Role
As the Year 1 Class Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inspiring lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Support pupils through this crucial stage of their educational journey
- Deliver high-quality phonics and early reading provision
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching within Key Stage 1 or recent placement experience in Year 1
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of phonics and early reading development
- Has excellent classroom management skills
- Is committed to achieving the best outcomes for all pupils
- Works well as part of a collaborative and supportive team
