The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for a Year 2 class, helping pupils build the confidence, skills, and independence they need as they prepare for the transition into Key Stage 2.
The school is looking for a teacher who can bring energy and creativity into the classroom, delivering engaging lessons that inspire a love of learning while supporting every child to achieve their full potential. You’ll work closely with colleagues and support staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every pupil feels encouraged to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
- Create a nurturing classroom where children feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners and ensure every child makes progress.
- Assess and monitor pupil achievement, using this to inform future planning.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2, although strong ECTs are encouraged to apply.
- Is passionate about helping children develop confidence and a lifelong love of learning.
- Has excellent classroom management skills and high expectations for every pupil.
- Enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to the wider school community.
