Years 3/4 Teacher – SEN School
Full-Time | September 2026 Start
Are you a passionate teacher looking for a role where you can genuinely change children’s lives every single day?
Masterclass Education is delighted to be working with an exceptional SEN school in Portsmouth to recruit a dedicated Year 3/4 Teacher to join their team this September.
This is far more than a teaching role, it’s an opportunity to become part of a school where every achievement is celebrated, every child is known as an individual, and staff work together to help pupils overcome barriers and reach their full potential.
The school is set within a purpose built environment, offering outstanding learning facilities designed to meet the needs of children with additional needs. From well-equipped classrooms and specialist sensory spaces to outdoor learning areas and therapeutic facilities, every part of the school has been created to help pupils feel safe, engaged and ready to learn.
You’ll be joining a friendly, experienced team that genuinely supports one another. Staff wellbeing is a real priority, and the leadership team is committed to ensuring everyone feels valued, listened to and given opportunities to grow professionally.
The Role
As the Year 3/4 Teacher, you’ll be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons that are tailored to meet the individual needs of your pupils. Working alongside experienced Teaching Assistants and specialist staff, you’ll create a classroom where children feel encouraged, understood and inspired to succeed.
No two days are ever the same, making this a hugely rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships and seeing the difference their teaching can make.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of every learner.
- Create a nurturing, structured classroom where pupils feel safe, confident and motivated.
- Adapt learning through creative and personalised teaching approaches.
- Monitor progress and celebrate every achievement, no matter how big or small.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and the wider school team.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues to support each child’s development.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching primary-aged children (experience within an SEN setting is welcomed but not essential).
- Is patient, compassionate and committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
- Can build trusting relationships and create an engaging learning environment.
- Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
- Brings enthusiasm, resilience and a positive outlook to the classroom every day.
Why You’ll Love This School
This is a school with a fantastic reputation for the support it provides to both its pupils and staff. You’ll be surrounded by a team who are passionate about making a difference and who celebrate every milestone together.
The school offers:
- Modern, purpose-built learning facilities.
- Specialist sensory and therapeutic learning spaces.
- Excellent classroom resources and outdoor learning environments.
- Small class sizes with strong Teaching Assistant support.
